“Sometimes you need to scorch everything to the ground, and start over. After the burning the soil is richer, and new things can grow. People are like that, too. They start over. They find a way.”
— Celeste Ng, Little Fires Everywhere | @theliteraryjournals
“I’m caught between trying to live my life, and trying to run from it.”
— Stephen Chbosky
“I know that things are brewing inside of you again. You don’t just disappear from the scene. I know you’ll be back. I can tell you’re already getting ready. You’re going to blow everybody away again, like you did before. You have it in you. I can’t wait.”
— Bruce Adler (via quotemadness)
“When you see something beautiful in someone, tell them. It may take a second to say, but for them, it could last a lifetime.”

The real glo up is when you stop waiting to turn into some perfect hypothetical version of yourself and consciously enjoy being who you are in the present moment.
I can never read all the books I want; I can never be all the people I want and live all the lives I want. I can never train myself in all the skills I want. And why do I want? I want to live and feel all the shades, tones and variations of mental and physical experience possible in life. And I am horribly limited.
I’m afraid of failure. Always have been and always about everything. I’m afraid of putting myself out there because I can’t stand being rejected, I can’t stand feeling like I failed the person in front of me, who was expecting so much more. I never gave my 100% in school because I knew, deep down, that if I did, I would have ended up disappointed so I settled for mediocrity. Mediocrity is good, it’s safe, but sometimes it’s not enough.
